Music is an expression of feelings of the soul conveyed through the
medium of sound. But not all sounds are music. It might be said
that only an organised sound or series of sounds can be called
music. Thus, music is connected to the eternal and constant flow
and order of the universe, to the laws and rhythms of nature. It
can also be said that musical order is comparable to the natural
order of the universe. There are laws of a certain nature in the
natural sciences and likewise in music there are structures and
procedures, or even rules, that should be followed to produce
beautiful music. The International Conference "Innovations for 21st
Century Music Education and Research" provided a timely opportunity
to take stock of the latest developments in music education and
brought together educators, researchers and members of the broader
community in a welcoming forum in which they were able to express
theoretical and practical views, concepts, research results and
principles to help support the further development of music
education.

Concluding part of the animated adaptation of Frank Miller's comic
book following the adventures of the caped crusader. Batman (voice
of Peter Weller) and his teenage sidekick Carrie Kelley (Ariel
Winter) continue to fight crime but they face a fierce enemy in the
Joker (Michael Emerson) who is once again wreaking havoc in Gotham
City. To make matters worse, new commissioner Ellen Yindel (Maria
Canals-Barrera) disapproves of Batman's methods, along with many
others, and the government has ordered Superman (Mark Valley) to
bring him down.
Six chronological, animated stories of the caped crusader, that
fill in the gaps between 'Batman Begins' and 'The Dark Knight'.
Combining the talents of three standout anime studios with noted
anime directors, Shojiro Nishimi, Futoshi Higashide, Hiroshi
Morioka, Yasuhiro Aoki and Toshiyuki Kubooka, the series charts
Batman's progression from gifted amateur to fully-fledged
crime-avenger. 'Have I Got a Story for You' tells how a group of
kids are variously affected by their encounters with Batman. In
'Crossfire', Gotham City's police force are forced to conquer their
distrust of the Dark Knight when they come under fire from the mob.
'Field Test' focusses on the vast array of weaponry and gadgets at
Batman's disposal as he fights injustice, while 'In Darkness
Dwells' has the caped-crusader locking horns with the sewer
dwelling 'Killer Croc' and 'The Scarecrow'. 'Working Through Pain'
explores Bruce Wayne's gruelling training regime, instigated by a
mysterious Indian woman named Cassandra, while the final chapter,
'Deadshot', draws the chapters to a conclusion, with Batman having
to stop a ruthlessly efficient assassin with few moral qualms.
